How we work

Our Client Philosophy

Insurance decisions can feel complicated, but you should never feel rushed or left with unanswered questions. We take time to listen, understand what matters to you, and explain your options in plain language.

Whether you’re reviewing the coverage you already have or planning for the years ahead, we’ll talk through the Medicare, income planning, and final expense questions that matter to you.

Our goal is to be a resource you can return to as your needs or coverage change—not just at enrollment.

About us

Meet the Smiths!

Hi, we're Dan and Magy Smith. We're both licensed insurance agents, and we work together to help California seniors with their coverage decisions.

We always start by listening. Before we talk about any options, we want to understand what matters to you: your doctors, your budget, how you like to get care, and what you want to plan for. Then we explain your choices in plain language and take all the time you need with your questions.

Whether you want a second look at the coverage you already have or you're thinking through what might fit your needs next, we can help with Medicare, income planning and annuities, and final expense coverage. Not every option is right for everyone, and our job is to help you understand yours so you can decide what makes sense for you.

Questions

Frequently asked

When can I sign up for Medicare?
Many people first become eligible at 65. There's generally an initial enrollment window around your 65th birthday, plus set times each year to make changes. Timing can depend on things like employer coverage, so it helps to ask early.
How is Original Medicare different from Medicare Advantage?
Original Medicare is the federal program. Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private companies approved by Medicare and have their own rules. We can explain how each approach works in general; what fits depends on your situation.
Can I change my coverage later?
Often, during certain times of year or in certain situations. The rules differ by coverage type, so check before making a change.
Do I have to decide right away?
You can take time to ask questions, review information, and talk with family before making any decision.
Where can I find official Medicare information?
Visit Medicare.gov. California's State Health Insurance Assistance Program, known as HICAP, also offers free counseling.
